Healing Haikus by Marjorie Miles, DCH

A Memoir That Reveals the Healing Power of Haiku Poetry and Creative Self-Expression

While daydreaming in her oncology doctor’s office, Marjorie Miles heard a voice telling her to write a poem—specifically a haiku. Despite her notion that cancer was not a poetic topic, she reluctantly picked up a pen. Moments later, she was staring at a simple three-line poem she had written about the radiation phase of her treatment. She read her poem aloud and discovered an enchanted echo beyond the words. It reverberated within her heart, revealing her Authentic Self among the tears, anger, humor, hope and creativity hidden there.

Marjorie reaches out to those who have been touched by cancer in this inspiring story of her journey to health and wholeness.

Marjorie Miles is truly a bright light in this world. When cancer came to her, she approached it with the stance and stamina of the spiritual warrior that she is. An intuitive coach and hypnotherapist, Marjorie utilized guided imagery and positive visualization in tandem with traditional medicine to activate her own healing. When her inner guidance prompted her to write poems, she was wise enough to listen. Her poems and journey to the other side of the battle with cancer are narrated with wit and charm. I highly recommend her book, Healing Haikus, a Poetic Prescription for Surviving Cancer. It is a lively and informative memoir for anyone who needs the courage and inspiration to meet seemingly daunting challenges.
